The second-hand marketplace Shoppers Express Displeasure About Sizing Changes
Shoppers are voicing their frustration due to a modification that led to items being listed as the wrong size.
This online marketplace has altered its size classifications for women's and children's clothes failing to inform every member regarding the update.
Online Platforms Response
Countless users and merchants are posting online claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration.
Vinted explained the updated approach better aligns with similar services.
They have suggested members to examine their items and manually change the size if necessary, which has left users frustrated.
Size Classification Modifications
Before the change, the sizing featured a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10.
The new system has a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10.
With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L used to be a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.

Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling".
"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.
A different member, based in Glasgow, said garments she listed on Vinted with size 14 labels were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22.
"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she explained.
Necessary Adjustments
Charlotte Lunn, based in Derby, explained she became annoyed because the modification necessitated personal updates the measurements for "each individual item".
"For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount following partial earnings loss," she stated.
Platform Context
The app has more than 100 million users, comprising 18 million UK members.
It has proved a popular alternative to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.
This isn't the first time when a surprising modification on the platform has faced criticism: last year, Vinted reversed a change concerning shipment methods following member complaints.
